Agree 100% with VC - Joan J every time for me too! Huge deliciously sweet fruit from late summer onwards...which somehow never make it home with me! I'm ordering another six plants next week on pay day

I've got 3 Polka too but they're in pots and never really done anything I'm going to plant them into the ground soon and give them another chance to impress or they're out!
If I'm not on the Grapevine I can usually be found here!....https://www.thecomfreypatch.co.uk/

I’m happy with my Autumn Bliss raspberries, I cut them all back apart from a couple of canes to give me an early crop.
        Location....East Midlands.

Have Polka here and can't fault them. They double crop so fruit from summer till winter, the amount in the freezer is testiment. However brought 3 Joan J a month ago to try, as trying different varieties is the spice of growing fruit/veg for me, and been seduced by the Joan J groupies on this forum.

                NO contest Joan J,
1 autumn fruiting, gives you the chance to process them later on,
2 when done, cut back to ground level,no thinking what stems to cut back, some peeps do leave some stems for earlier fruiting, only did it once, they were not much in front, and ended up with loads of stems,
3 they are lovely big and juicy.

I ripped my Autumn fruiters out. I just couldnt persuade them to stay in their allocated area.

It's probably MY fault I'm not impressed as I haven't really given poor Polka a chance Got them in 2018 and put them *temporarily* in pots until I sorted out a proper bed for them and *cough* they're still in those pots Poor neglected rasps I'll sort a bed out soon and pamper them for a couple of years before deciding

They do tend to "wander" but I love my autumn raspberries, easier to prune and bigger and more fruit than my summer ones.

I grow Joan J and Polka and I think Polka are slightly better, equally tasty but I get a better crop from Polka.

Has anyone else tried growing Erika? I only have them two years (and I moved them after 1st year) but they have grown well and produced nice big berries right up to Christmas. Theyre supposed to be the "next big thing" according to the catalogues, but I suppose they say that about everything. I always get taken in by the hype!
Anyways, just wanted to add that I'm really impressed with it so far, and it just doesn't stop producing berrries even after a mild frost in November it kept going!
