  • Grapevines

Hi I have a grapevine that I planted last year against a sunny wall and it actually did quite well. It had care instructions with it but made no mention of cutting back so I've just left it. Starting to think that maybe I should have pruned it back during the winter. It has the beginnings of buds on it again, should I cut it back now or just leave it to its own devises?

It's too late now to cut back the brown wood. You can only do that in the depths of winter while the sap is down or it bleeds to death. You'll have to wait until next christmas to do that, but you can rub off any buds you don't want and keep cutting back the green foliage in summer.
