  • Fruit for a north facing wall??

I've got a tiny garden in which I'm hoping to grow fruit and veggies in raised beds, but I was wondering if there is any fruit that will grow well against a north facing wall? I want to try and bring some colour to that wall, but nothing seems to grow well there at all

I was looking at this yesterday on the RHS site and they say black and white currants. Worth a try i guess. Although they didnt say anything about Gooseberries, but I am sure that i read somewhere that they dont mind shade!

I am going to give both a go, will keep you posted!

    Good luck,

    Sandra

If you want something that will cover the wall I would suggest a Morello cherry. It's a cooker, rather than a desert cherry, but the advantage of that is that you stand some chance of getting the fruits before the birds do!
      Resistance is fertile

A Morello cherry would certainly be my choice for a N facing wall.
