  • Deers have been severely eating the bark off of my fruit trees!!

Deer have been having a good munch on the bark that surrounds my fruit trees, they are fairly well established and we have only really just mvoed into this house. I will be protecting them from future attacks however is there anything I can do to protect the areas that are bare and to generally help the tree. I have purchased tree wash and fruit tree grease.

But is there anything I can wrap around or apply to the trees where it has been stripted all the way around.

I look forward to your feedback in due course.

    Many Thanks

    Ed

The best course of action depends on what types of fruit trees and the extent of the damage.

In any case, the damage could already be serious enough that the trees will die, or may slowly go into decline over the next few years.

You may want to look up "bridge grafting and girdled trees", which may be the only hope of survival for a tree that has been stripped all the way around.
