I suspect it may be terminal but I'm no arborist...
Was moved from an abandoned plot last October and was eeemingly doing well. Looked ok last weekend...or at least nothing jumped out at me, I didn't look at it too closely
    Any thoughts?

Might recover - probably got some root damage when it was moved - not much to be done except to ensure that the tree has enough water directly near the base of the trunk.

Did you put loads of feed in the planting hole?
I have heard that if you overdo it the leaves will react a bit like that.
Sorry...it's just something from the old memory banks , and may be wrong in your case.

Lack of water might cause the feed to be concentrated too....

I rarely do 'loads of' anything as I'm "raryish" in nature... it got a mix of chicken pellets, some home made compost and some decent topsoil...

It had (and has) two options

Too little water (needs time to grow more roots after being moved) or too much fertiliser.

Until a few days ago it has been very dry and mild here for the last few months and recently the soil was so dry it was becoming difficult to keep some garden plants alive.
