  • Blueberry seeds

    Hi guys
I have been given some blueberry seeds to grow bushes from seed. Do any of you have any experience of this ie what germination is like? It would be a bargain if it works as I have 50 seeds.

Never tried them but you have nothing to loose. I wonder if they need a period of stratification (bag of moist sand & stick them in the fridge for a month then sow them in normal M/P compost somwhere warm (bottom heat preferably)
    ntg
Never be afraid to try something new.

I was wondering if the same applied to raspberry seed? I have decided to just leave them outside all winter in a bag of sand, what do you think Nic? Daren't put them in the fridge or else one of my offspring or myself will come in drunk one night and eat them!!!
My dad used to take an hour eating a kipper by the time he had removed all the bones, but if he came in drunk he used to pick it up by its tail and eat it like top cat..head first!! Sorry for the tangential linguistics by the way!

        Whatever they are

Funnily enough I though the same thing when I read your thread. How many seed did you get?

What you could do is sow half of them in a tray of M/P & leave it outside (but covered else your local moggies will do you know what in it) & try the other half in a sarnie bag of moist sand.
