  • Anyone using the 'Papadome' fruit cages ?

These are very versatile crop protection 'domes' of various sizes. I bought the smaller one last year and considering a few more this year, various optional extra covers to protect against tiny insects, frost, and to keep warm, and obviously birds.

I was told Harrod Horticultural had taken over production, they do cost a lot but a permanent fixed fruit cage of any decent size would cost as much or more.

Would be interested if anyone has used the larger sizes.

    They're these things - https://www.harrodhorticultural.com/...me-cid327.html
Never seen or used them myself - sorry.

I have never used them-but only because I am one who enjoys the creative/ingenuity challenges of cobbling things together myself

However, I have seen them before and they do look good - I was v tempted to put an ad on freecycle looking for a tent which was no longer useable as a tent, then get my scissors and sewing machine out and sew in mesh panels....

I would consider the same except that the sewing machine is the property of Mrs. Losos and I am banned from going anywhere near it , she also has some very expensive tailors scissors which I am likewise not allowed to use.
