  • Anyone grown or eaten ribes odoratum?

Ribes Odoratum aka Buffalo currant or clove currant.

Just wanted a grapes opinion as it seems a bit odd they aren't more popular if they are sweeter and yummier than blackcurrants. So anyone have experience with these and what did/do you think?

    Thanks as always

    Pretty yellow flowers, spicy scent.

Fruit nothing special yield or flavour, sweetish if left on bush for ages. Birds left them alone for ages!

If you want decent fruit get a proper currant. I bought this as the catalogue overhyped it about 20 years ago. It's a survivor but won't be missed but won't die despite transplanting!
