Chicken manure is high in nitrogen = for leaf growth

You want something high in potash for fruit = BFB is good, or comfrey tea

Can you dilute BFB with water? I do have some. Comfrey sadly I don't yet have although I have a friend who may be willing to spare some.

You can use borage leaves too, just as good. BFB doesn't really dilute as such, you sprinkle it on (under your mulch?) then water it in

I didn't know you could use borage! I have a big patch of it waiting to be dug up.

Thanks for the offer of some comfrey root. I won't take you up on it though as I know my friend on our site has some spare for me.

Borage will do you nicely - stick it in a milk bottle, top up with water and off you go

Nettles take about 30 days. Comfrey should take about the same, between 3 and 5 weeks.

I have no idea

I just add a dash to the watering can as and when, then I top the bottle up with more leaves & more water. Repeat all summer

All summer? I'm still using last years, just adding more comfrey and nettles to it, stirring and using. I reckon I can keep doing it forever in the same giant pot.

TwoSheds, I've read that you can use strawberry plants too so in the absence of much comfrey (have just posted about this elsewhere, in a thread about rampant Bocking 14, but perhaps should have asked you here?) I'm gathering up the odd stray runner - and borage leaf - but do I need a much bigger quantity to make the feed viable?
