Who has experience with bokashi Hands up !
I got recipe for EM.(effective microorganisms) on line, how to make bokashi bran all on you tube. Am raring to go but price of bins is astronomical and although I could make my own but am planning to set up 40 people with them. Seems like a very effective way of dealing with food waste.
    Any thoughts ?

There are a few other threads on Bokashi. Mixed opinions if I remember correctly. Try running a search.

There are quite a few of us on here who have bokashi bins, I got mine on offer on t'internet about 5 years ago. You really need two so that you can be filling one while the other one is festering (or whatever they do) before you can use it - you are supposed to leave it a couple of weeks but it usually takes me about 3 months to fill a bin (a lot of people fill then a lot quicker but I only put stuff in that I can't put in the wormery / compost heap) so I leave the old one full until then and either bury it in the compost heap in winter or in the spring I'll put it in the bean trench.

I think you can make them but you need to make sure that they are properly airtight with a tap to drain off the liquor (if you don't drain then they can stink!) but whatever you do, it'll add up to a bit of you're wanting that many.

Some of us live in the past, always talking about back then. Some of us live in the future, always planning what we are going to do. And, then there are those, who neither look behind or ahead, but just enjoy the moment of right now.

Which one are you and is it how you want to be?
