Saw the chap who lives opposite The Paddock on my way down to the shop this evening and he informed me that a new roof has been put on the sheds! Whoop! Whoop!. Will go up and have a look tomorrow.
Lovely evening, so went up to Lottie#1 and spent and hour or so happily potting on lettuces into modules. Will be eating a lot of salad this year!
Toms seem to be doing really well in the cold frame. Hopefully will get up there again tomorrow and do a bit of rearranging. Going to get some ...

    05.04.10 - Easter Bank Holiday
Well, managed to dig out my third potato bed up at The Paddock. Now have Red Duke of York, Maris Peer and Pentland Javelin in the ground and Pink Fir Apple and King Edwards in bags.
P made me up two raised bed frames and we put them into place round the first to potato beds. Look good and it means I will be able to earth up without getting soil everywhere.

Sowed Minette Basil, Greek Oregano and Chives - freebies from Magazine. Already have loads of chives, but plan to pot them up in empty Apple cans from work and use them as a moveable Carrot Fly deterrant.
Pricked out Summer PSB into modules.
Moved infant tomatoes and Gerkins to cold frame having blocked up the gaps around the lid with ...

April at last and the wind has died down and the sun has shone most of the day.
Big stuff in that I went and paid my landlady the years rent for The Field. I now feel that I can get going properly on it. Will try and get up there at the weekend - weather permitting of course.Spent the day in the garden with P after a brief visit up to Lottie #1 to check on the babies.
All well, but I took the extra protection off them as it was actually making them sweat. Everyone got ...

REALLY windy today, with squally showers earlier.
Cleared up by the time I'd finished Annie's ironing, so bunged Beau in the car and went down to the beach. Blimey-oh-Riley, I could barely stand up. The gale screaming in from the sea was pushing water up the beach, so that although the tide was going out, the sand was awash with foam and water! Beau loved it. Walked up as far as Flotsam Cove. There was an "Object of Interest" up by the cliff but decided not to go ...
