I've managed to clear the spot where I want the shed to go on plot 2 and I moved the slabs for the greenhouse onto the plot (17 of the buggers), just a little work to do on the shed base next week, got 8 1x1 slabs (freebie) to take to the plot for the bearers of the shed to sit on, just hope the weather holds next week.

Just popped over the allotment quickly to get a few leeks for tea tomorrow - everything is still waterlogged and almost impossible to walk on without leaving boot shaped pools behind

Then ended up pulling out a car and the truck that tried to rescue the car from the field

Totally covered head to foot in mud!!!
Scarecrow: Come along, Dorothy. You don't want any of *those* apples.
Apple Tree: Are you hinting my apples aren't what they ought to be?
Scarecrow: Oh, no. It's just that she doesn't like little green worms!

Today I pulled out my woodburning stove from the corner of my greenhouse and re-sited it at the other end of the greenhouse in the middle. The reason for doing this is that I am rebuilding my greenhouse roof & placing the woodburner on the North wall which should make better use of available daylight/sunshine in the greenhouse.
I have a permanet raised bed along one side and intend putting a raised bed along the other side with a central pathway along the middle from the door to the woodburner.
The woodburner is a home made jobbie made from a gas bottle with a flue on top. It worked very well where it was so should work well in its new position.
I have stood two household radiators on end behind it to protect the glass. Eventually I will connect these together, put a bung in the bottom and fill them with water. This theoretically should warm up withthe heat of the burner, plus the flue pipe and give extra heat over a longer period.

Had to call it a day today because I didn't have my saw, for the roof trusses, my tape to measure them with,my stepladders to reach and no nails or screws to fix things together. These i will have with me for my next visit!

I need to get my greenhouse sorted before I can start sowing!

Today I started training my fig tree into an espalier, sowed lots and lots of onions (Ailsa Craig) and leeks 'Musselburg', and also potted up some chilli plants Jeanied had given me in the summer - they were looking a bit desperate!

Today I sorted out my seeds, washed pots, made Grumpy bring in some more compost to thaw and emptied the airing cupboard's single shelf so I can sow some tomato seeds and put them in there tomorrow.

(Then I had to reconfigure another cupboard so I'd have somewhere to put the towels I removed from the airing cupboard)

Today I've been on both my plots, first I helped unload a lorry of 60 bags of compost 60 bags of groworganic manure 10 bags of seed potatoes and all the onion sets for the lottie, I'm being given some compost for helping then called home to pick up 8 1x1 slabs (freebies) to make some pads for my shed to sit on on plot 2, When I got them to my plot I found that the chaps I've got the shed off (2nd hand refurb 40) have been and done the job for me

So home early and now going to pick son up from school before cooking tea..
