  • Polytunnels for rent

    Hi,

I have 24 acres of land in Iverheath, Buckinghamshire and am thinking about renting parts of it out for someone to grow crops on, I also have a polytunnel on this property which I have been successfully growing produce in and so im also thinking about renting this out too, and if profitable then maybe purchase more to rent out.

Would anyone know if there is any money in renting out polytunnels, and if so how much they would rent for and where to advertise this?

    Thanks

Maybe consider letting as allotments? How big is the tunnel?

I thought about the commercial possibilities for plots and allotments. You could provide space and advice to newbies and watering services etc. maybe best as an add on to an existing nursery to make sure you pwned the add on sales like any good capitalist would try to do. Eh eh!!

Once you are no longer a newbie you would quickly move on to a more trad allotment so expect a high turnover of customers. But if you could make a living at it i thought it would be a great business.

Good luck if you decide to move it forward.

First step would be I imagine to find out if there is a local waiting list for allotments and do some market research on whether there would be enough people to sustain 24 acres. What about a community allotment providing veggie boxes like Ecoworks in Nottingham? We are just about to open one at Ryton Gardens and I can't wait to get my veg from there!

              Hi,

I'm just wondering, do you still have the area to rent? i'm looking to setup a small scale aquaponics system and would be interested in knowing how much you'd charge to use a small part of your land.

              Thanks,

              Daniel.

Daniel, the original poster hasn't visited the Forum since that post nearly a year ago so I don't think he/she will be reading your message.
