  • Does anybody want to use my garden?

    Hi all,

Not sure if I am on the correct website never mind forum. I am after a little advice. We bought my grandparents house about a year ago, our garden is massive and neither of us are keen gardners ( am I allowed to say that on here oops). I remember when I was little the garden was divided with a lawn on one side of a little fence and my grandads vegetables/ green house/ shed/ rose garden etc on the other (I've been told these were often prize winning). It seem such a waste to leave it the way it is and would love for it to be used, we have also heard waiting lists for allotments can be long.

Does anybody know how I would find somebody wanting to use this land or want to themself? We live in south shields, Tyne and wear. We would not ask any fee we simply want the garden to be used and somebody not to think of it as a burden

    Thanks for any advice
    Amy

Landshare would be your best bet.

Hello Amy and welcome. Stick around here for a while and we'll turn you into an enthusiastic gardener!
Meanwhile have a look at Landshare - connecting growers to people with land to share. There may be someone near you who is looking for space to grow.

I've merged the two threads - as you have already found it gets a little confusing

Yep, Landshare is a good idea and you may even get produce in return!
