If you were advertising your allotment site would you use a photo showing that on hot summer days you had to trudge your water to the plot? Mind you it does look quite nice

      Is this your site?

In search of an allotment within 10 miles of Glynneath

            Hi guys
I’m new to the forum. I’ve been growing fruit and veg in my garden for quite a few years now and I would really like to take on an allotment so I can upscale. Does anyone know of any free plots within a reasonable distance of Glynneath please?
I’ve sent a message regarding this thread but I’m thinking I’ve probably missed the boat.

Hi Cjenks - perhaps start a new thread in the allotment finder section stating that you're looking... you'll better attract the attention of anyone who knows of anything useful then? Good luck!

                Croeso!!
There's a very old thread about allotments in the Neath area - don't know if there are any sites mentioned that are convenient for you, that you could chase up?

I'm not sure you will get a free plot anywhere, you usually have to pay ?

I think that's "free" meaning "vacant" - like a toilet when you come out and say "this one's free".

Haha ok....Scarlets brain has been fried today. This kids home thing is major - especially as I always get extras. Noise, mess and everything else that comes with teenagers! Agh!!

Thanks for this. I don't expect to get a plot straight away, I would be happy to manage to get on a waiting list . I'll let you know how I get on......

Maybe worth giving Jackarmy a PM.....( see his post above) is he that far away from you? He might have some helpful advice.

Have you been to any of the sites and asked about availability? Sometimes, the direct approach works better than online. There may be a notice board with contacts. Weekends are best as moer people are there then.

                            Good luck.

Is the allotment still available in Longford? I am based in Cwmgwrach and I used to teach in Dwr y felin and I know the area well.
