  • Allotments in North Leeds

I am looking for neighbours in North Leeds. There are only 10 plots on the site and I am sure at least 3 are vacant. It would be nice to have someone to chat with.

It's a council site, well fenced and secure with water laid on.

    Hi Digger,

Welcome to the Vine. It's nice to hear that there are a few places that have vacancies these days it's usually the other way around.

Hello Allotmentkeeper, welcome to the grapevine.

I have one plot in Seacroft and have just got to the top of the waiting list for a plot in Crossgates. Sorry that I am a bit away from you but if you need the details of the council office etc I will let you have them.

                      Thanks for the welcomes!

It's OK Digger - I found out yesterday that some of the Headingley sites are self-managed and I have the contact numbers for the Big Chiefs, but I asked to go on the waiting lists for the council managed ones regardless.

I just have to make a few phone calls and see if there are any free plots. Fingers crossed...

I would get on the managed site lists ASAP. You will probably find the council offer you one in no time but the managed sites are generally better kept and easier to get hold of someone who can help with any problems such as water, security and clearing rubbish. At least thats my experience in Leeds.
