hi all i have a couple of tree stumps from trees planted by the last plot holder ,ive started tryin to dig them out and its a real pain ,its at the front of my plot and i want to clear that area so "manure john" can back his trailer up and dump out some manure for me to put on my beds ,has anyone got any ideas on a poison to kill the trees so i can just cover them over and let them rot down ? any thought welcome ,cheers

You can get brushwood killer which if you drill a few hole and pour it in will kill them. In the old days we used to do the same with sodium chlorate let it dry the set fire to it - not something to be recommended where a house might be set alight though :-)

Drill holes in the stump and then douse it all in vegetable oil, keep adding oil for a few days and then have a charcoal fire on top of the stump

If its a large stump you may need to keep the charcoal fire going for a while

What type of tree is it? Many will just die off if cut to the ground. If the area is not going to be cultivated, just let nature take its course

Willow on the other hand needs to be managed!!

Hi. On Pinterest there are lots of posts saying to drill holes in the stump and fill them with Epsom salts.
According to the posts it works pretty fast. Worth a try.
