    planting on a manured bed

    we manured 3 of our beds with well rotted manure about 5 months ago ,,,what can i plant in it ,,we have decided to plant pototoes in bags so dont want to use the beds for those ,,and dont want to use the beds for pumpkins we have a patch for those ,,so what can i plant in them

      Plant what you like to eat and if it is also expensive in the shops, a double benifit.

              lots of stuff ,,,was just wondering what was best to put on them ,,trying to do my plan got 8 beds left 3 have got manure on them

                The main things to avoid would be carrots and parsnips.

                Beans, brassicas, squash, tomatoes, peas?

                Shame about the potatoes, they'd have loved it and your carrots could have gone in the pots.

                  the potatoes have already gone in manured beds ,so no worries there

                    According to Charles Dowding in his No Dig book he says you can sow anything into well rotted manure. Says it is not true that carrots fork because of manure.

                      It's fresh manure apparently that forks them, and excess nitrogen that makes the carrot grow all hairy on the root
