  • New allotment I'd plant/weeds

    Hi everyone
First day at the plot and give a better look around.
First i break inside the other shed and found quite few good things that I used.
Second I need to known what plants are:

Look like strawberry but is a bit hairy at the back and the size is smaller then a strawberry plant ( the picture make it look bigger the actually is). I have it everyone in the plot as ground cover.

This I know is a berry but wich one? There is a big bed of it. Of course I will keep it until I don't need the space. Is pointless start a project when I need to de weed the rest. At least when the allotment officer comes can see something growing and not an empty plot.

This bush I don't know what it is

This is close to the pond and I also have one at home close to the pond I have. Look like is follow me this and I can't find what it is.

This as to be the star of the plot. For an Italian a Rosemary plant is a must and this two are massive.

This is the first work I did. Well I try to take some weed of with a hoe but too thick to cut them( i Think there is grass as well for the path). All this material where in the shed wich saved me quite few ££££££. Not bad for 30£ rent a year I have few hundred pounds of stuff left in there.

!. Strawberry - probably running wild and getting smaller each year - or could be woodland strawberries. Wait and see!
      2. Either redcurrant or whitecurrant. Good to have!
      3. is it throrny? Looks like a dog rose.
      4. Not a clue what the dead leaves are!
      5. Lovely rosemary - as you know!

Thanks vc. Yes is an apple tree and is In my plot. There are 3 rhubarb in the plot and lot of comfrey at the border. I forgot that there are 12 waterbutt all together and not 7. 6 of them connected at the sheds (well 2 each sheds and 2 at one garage that it's outside but on the border of the plot.) a wheelbarrow as well.

Of course. No tool expect for a massive mallet the one used for slab. Few roll of weed membrane and one massive of the black damp proof membrane witch i used. There are few shelfs unit full of organic fertiliser ( wich make me think the plot was look after well) The other shed as been wallpaper and have courtains and a desk with chair and I found a lot of crayons and pencil, some drawing and a small not working radio. Maybe whoever had it had a child where could be busy when he/she was busy. Plus a small tomato blows way still in the box.

The dead brown plant looks rather like bracken/fern,have a look at the plant base, and see if anything is coming to life,if a fern, the foliage does not come straight up,it emerges out of the ground curled up then unfolds,
Sounds a good start you got, good luck with it,
