  • My new allotment

    Hi All

I went to my new allotment last Friday and spent the day virtually on my own (the whole site, not just my plot!!). Here is our plot.

Picture one : my plot is from the inside of the fence in the foreground to my wheel barrow (it is a half plot but it's still 27ft X 35ft). Luckily not very overgrown just needs a bit of weeding and turning over.

Picture two : the three sheds I took on with the plot. The current Mrs P has bugsied the brown one as her potting shed for her cut flowers (I'm really pleased she getting involved).

Picture three : the path that seperates my sheds from my growing area and all the other butts, poles etc that came with it. The path is part of my plot and is shared with the other plot holder, it takes up growing area, but I like it so its going to stay.

Picture four : The result of day one....lots of weeding and turning. I was really pleased with the result and it was worth the aching muscles the following days. You can see from the picture how close it is to the car park (no lugging stuff miles to my plot), to the left of the red and white cones is the communal manure pile and wood chip pile (I really have the best sited plot!!).

We were down there last Sunday and we planted some raspberry plants and I put in a darlek and filled it with the weeds and grass I dug up.

We're back down there this Friday too...I can't wait!!

Congrats! Can't wait until I can get stuck in with one! Looks in pretty good nick too, I'd love a blank canvas like that (as per the other thread too) to plan

Wow, what a fantastic plot Parsley! Lovely and flat, and the site, as a whole, sounds very well run. I wish you every success.
