    leaf mould time me thinks!!

    What a difference a day makes, just out with the dogs this am and wondered what all the noise was, then to my horror i realised it was all the leaves falling off the trees!!

    As i am pretty much surrounded by trees this means the beginning of the battle between them dropping and me collecting(one i rarely win!). Oh and more blisters from the rake,no one would believe i don't have a manual job by the state of my hands!!

    How does everyone else tackle this??

    I don't have too many trees near where I live, but Dexter the dog and I love nothing more than going for a walk where there are lots of leaves on the ground and then running, jumping and kicking the leaves around! DDL
    PS well, I do, Dexter just trots along as normal! LOL

        I agree. And I've got a four year old to help me! It's a good excuse.

        As for the garden, I've raked a load of leaves onto the border from the pear tree. Not sure what to do with the rest. Roxie only manages to eat a few a day so she's not much help.

          yes running through leaves is one of my favorite things to do, they have to be crisp tho.

            You all know what you're supposed to do with leaves - rake them up and put them into a bin bag or wire cage thingy to make leaf mould. Takes all the fun out of autumn though, doesn't it? I borrow the grandchildren so I can go walking through crunchy leaves without looking like a complete nutter!

              Put all mine in bin bags to make leaf mold. Have lots from last year in my mothers shed and they have rotted down really well after a year.

                leaf mould

                Hi all
                I raked up all the leaves last year from my small garden and put them in a bin liner.
                They've been stewing nicely all year and last week I had some rotted down stuff (not quite compost, but but no discernable leaves) which I've put on my allotment.
                The leaves were mostly apple tree and forsythia, but they rotted down quite well in a year.

                  Going to get on the case later lots of leaves near me black bags at the
                  ready. Just hope i dont get blown away .
