  • Kirsty's patch... overgrown jungle to..... hopefully a plot!!

A few of you might remember giving me some advice back in February when I took on my plot, I've decided to start a new thread to add progress as I try to get control of this patch of wasteland... so far I've decided to do things entirely my own way, hence my way of stringing up beans/beans, and creating beds may not be to everyone's liking but its working for me so far. (adding the pictures as thumbnails as they are large files) I've gone from not growing much this year, to planting 48 potatoes, broad beans, sweet peas, peas, runner beans, and still to plant courgettes, squash, pumpkin, yellow French beans, mange tout, tomatoes, chillis and a rhubarb crown in a container. I've decided to dump my weeds in a mound at the side to keep the jungle from next door contained.

Looking good! Glad to hear you're planting as well as organising the plot. I always feel more motivated when there is something coming up.

One bit of old folklore wisdom says to plant tomatoes when the soil is warm enough to sit on with bare buttocks. In surburban areas, use the back of your wrist. Jackie French
