  • Free Rabbit Manure - Warrington Area

I have available a pretty steady suppy of rabbit waste for composting. I do compost it myself, but have a small garden and would be happy to give some away to a good home.

It is comprised of mostly hay/droppings and sometimes newspaper/untreated wood pulp. The hay/droppings are considered green manure and can be dug in without composting, however if you're wanting to compost it first it can be mixed in with garden/kitchen waste, soil, and other materials.

If you're interested please get in touch!

You might have more luck with a local advert: have you tried Freegle?

Good idea. I'll check out Freegle and Freecycle! I just thought perhaps I'd find someone into gardening who may be looking out for such things on here.

Would love it but am too far away over here in Oldham!

Shame! If I ever get around to processing enough that I have spare, I'd be willing to post out 'magic poops' to people (for a small cost to cover the shipping). If it's separated from the rest of the waste (hay/straw/paper) then it's inert enough to be boxed up and can be mixed in with planting soil or scattered with mulch. I've just done a test this weekend - planted three strawberry plants with it mixed into the soil and three without - so I can have some tangible evidence of whether it makes any appreciable difference.

If you're after stuff for your comport heap, I can ask about on the rabbit forum if there is anyone over Oldham way (everyone always has hay/waste/paper going spare)!

Oo that'd be interesting to see if there's anyone close by with compostables! Thank you!
