Christmas Potatoes

I suppose it depends on a few variants i.e. where you live? what is the first expected frost date? can you give them protection? etc!

Hi Bellul, as we have milder Autumns and winters in East Anglia, i would wait until mid August to plant, although you can do a trial starting at the beginning of the month, then plant every two weeks until mid September to see which are the best results all dependant on how many seed spuds you have.

Earlier this year I bought some Charlotte spuds from Aldi and used a few of them in bags to grow a fantastic crop which I've justr finished. I started them off by chitting them.
Last weekend I bought some Maris Peer (as recommended by Medwyn Williams) again from Aldi with the intention of growing them in bags for Christmas. I put a dozen of them out to chit but they have started to wrinkle. Do they need chitting at all and when is the best time to plant them?
