Default A brand new allotment just starting out

    Hi all
my name is Nigel and me and about 20+ residents of Warton, Preston Lancs are starting an brand new allotment we have the land which will be rented from a private land load.
I have put in for lotto funding, hope they can help. And we have elected the committee.
The land is greenbelt and we have been told that we need planing for sheds - greenhouses and hard standing. Not sure how much of that is correct.
The land has only been used for keeping 1 or 2 horses on in the past.

So if there is any advice you/your member can give me that would be very helpful as none of us has ever had an allotment or run one before.

    Regards Nigel.

Also worth using the search facility in green task bar at the top, heres a

linkhttp://www.growfruitandveg.co.uk/grapevine/allotment-advice/creating-brand-new-allotment-site_24995.html...with a bit about setting out, paths, ploughing etc.

You'll need to consider water supply, Tenacy agreements rules etc.

It helps us if you put a location in your profile.

NSALG have boilerplate documents you can use for your constitution/rules, and members can get cheap seeds from Kings (about half price on average!). Good luck with the new site - sounds like a real adventure!

Dy-lammer we have just been offered a bigger plot of land 2 acres of meadow to start are new allotment but it needs to have an entrance to highways standards .
It is a very nice bit of land no trees to move, no need to get planning for the changed of use but will need it for sheds/greenhouses and had standings.
We need to get a move on with this
