  • Bats - how to film them

We've got a couple of bats that like flying over the trees at the end of the garden - anyone got any tips for how best to film them (generally going to be on an android phone - so apps maybe?)
Not looking for anything that will necessarily impress Chris Packham...

You will be lucky to get a still image, you might get some movie footage. Can you set the iso on a phone? If you can wind it up to get as much light in as you can, you can't slow the shutter speed as the subject is moving too quick. Try getting the Bat coming towards you(make a noise like a moth)

        At night!
Feed the soil, not the plants.

Seriously, it all depends on what you are hoping to achieve & how you want to do it (how much would you like to spend)?

Could you set up a strong light to attract insects to a particular point?
            That might make it easier.
Education is important, but motorbikes is importanter.

Pointing my phone at them and pressing recird is likely as far as it will go. Insect light sounds like an idea...
