| In exchange for eating all the aphids on our fruit trees, two of the nest boxes built and fixed into position a few weeks ago are now occupied. We have 1 box with blue tits and 1 box with great tits in occupancy. Hopefully the others will get some interest soon, especially the robin boxes.

| You are so lucky. I remember my primary school putting up nest boxes many years ago and they were never used. It put me off putting up boxes of my own, but I'll definitely have a go next spring. We made a hedgehog box from an old tea-chest in the autumn, and that's occupied - though by what we can't say, I like to think it's a hedgehog, but my miseryguts OH says it's a rat |

| Funnily enough Manda one of the boxes occupied is the middle picture of this post which is cable tied to an old plum tree. The other occupied one is attatched to some harris fencing at the end of one plot and was occupied last year. More photos to come when I get time to sit patiently.

| What an excellent landlord you are PW. 20 nest boxes, I kinda imagine you sneaking round while folk aren't looking and putting up a nest box on their patch! ![]() I haven't as much spare wood as you (nor as much patience) so I admit to buying this robby box off ebay. I particularly liked the slate roof. Yesterday I put it up - on next doors fence too! There's not a lot of vegetation around it - the honeysuckle hasn't yet grown, so don't know if robby will fancy it. Edit - I did have to drill a couple of small holes in the bottom of the box in case it got water in, so it could drain. OPEN FRONTED NEST BOX

| We have a long multi-celled box on the garage known as Spadger Villas which Mr F made several years ago and which has housed blue and great tits (but not sparrows!) Sadly we had to take it down this spring as we are having the garage re-built but we're looking forward to re-erecting it soon. It's not the only box in the garden though.
