  • Whats eaten my root parsley?

    Had to pull up my parsley hamburg and ditch it as some horrible wee beasties has been at the roots - they were full of holes ant mushy. Can anyone tell me what these things are?

    Look like aphids to me.

      They do look like aphids but have you looked inside the root? Maybe carrot fly nymphs are about too if there's holes in the root?

        Thanks guys. I had thought carrot fly but was thrown off by the hordes of ickle things at the base.

        Guess the pests are ganging up.

        Ah well- next year I'll be using enviromesh. The onions didn't keep the fly away from the carrots either.
