  • Weeds and roots

I have been digging over what will be the bog GARDE around the pond. It was created at the end of last year but not planted up. It has since grown a magnificent crop of weeds mostly the stuff that sticks to you like Velcro. I spent a few hours digging it our today. The roots are incredible and cover the soil. Does this weed come back from its roots. I ma planing on planting phacielia there until I can get the plants for it will the weeds come back from the roots

Sticky Willy has surprisingly little root considering how much it spreads. It grows from seeds that it produces in abundance, so you'll have it for a while. But if you keep an eye open and pull it up promptly it won't cause you too much of a problem.

I'm not sure how our garden isn't covered in stickyweed - our cat is always coming back covered in the seeds!
