  • small green things eating my strawberry leaves!

I thought that December would be a quiet month for pests, with them being killed off by the frost we had earlier, but over the last few days I've still seen some slugs, a couple of big caterpillars near my carrots and now this - no idea what they are so any help welcome... They are eating in a very orderly manner all the strawberry leaves. Not happy about this. Especially since my garlic is growing nicely in the same raised bed...
    Help!

    Thanks

It could be a strawberry leaf roller caterpillar. Are any of the leaves rolled or stuck together with sticky silk? They are supposed to only eat vegetation that's already dead and decomposing, so maybe your strawberries have a fungal disease that is actually causing the original damage. Caterpillars are usually particular about their food plants so they probably won't affect the garlic.

Thanks Zelenina, I am now reassured and will try to pick all these little things and dispose of them... I am reassured about my (currently) healthy garlic!

Did you get this sorted. Just interested in finding out what it was as I can't see the attachment. I am having a bit of an issue with aphids at the minute on my greenhouse grown strawberries. I currently just squash them but some more appear in a few days
