Default Jagged white lines!

Hi again!

Just wondering if I need to worry about the jagged white lines that have appeared on some of the leaves of my cauliflower and broccoli plants. Anyone know what these are? Thanks.

I would say the most likely culprit fruitylala is leaf miner. If you turn the leaves over, you should see some little brown 'bulges' in the tracks. They are not particularly damaging to the plant, but if you stick your thumbnail through the bulges, you will be preventing more bugs.

I would say the lines are wiggly rather than jagged, but would agree with Valmarg's diagnosis. Definitely leaf miner. You could just pick the affected leaves off if there are not too many of them.

Thanks for your kind replies.

Yes, I think you're right rustylady - on closer inspection the lines are definitely more wiggly than jagged. I will follow your advice and pick out these leaves as there are not too many of them.

Valmarg - I will keep the thumbnail trick in mind if this problem continues.

Thanks again.
