Default Fleece v Mesh

Is it ok to use a very thin fleece over my canopy frame on my raised beds (covering brassicas) instead of shelling out for enviromesh? to keep out the insects etc

We use a lot of fleece and have been really pleased with the results over the years.
It's good for frost/moisture retention and keeping off bugs.
You just need to make sure you remove it from time to time to allow insects to pollinate certain plants (eg strawberries)!

I would have thought that fleece would be better than mesh, specially since I've been plagued with whitefly this year and the little b*****s are so small they'll get through anything except fleece.
