Default Eel Worm

Has anyone had any problems with eel worm damage on their potatoes this season. I have since been told never to plant potatoes next to the grass access road as the potatoes will always suffer with eel worm.

I was plagued with them last year had a job to find a spud without a hole in it, but I put this down to the site being closed for an upgrade the sweep couldn'd get in to deliver his soot, this winter the soot returned and I covered the plot where I was to plant my spuds in soot then rotavated it in, touch wood no eelworm and not many slugs.
