  • Early pests

I'm amazed. While I was out in the garden today, with a few delicate snowflakes drifting down, I found a lily beetle walking across the ground. I can only imagine it was going to make a meal of the delphinium shoots that are just starting to emerge from the ground. I didn't realise they came out so early, but now I know why the numbers of fritillaria meleagris have decreased such a lot.

    Endless wonder.
