Default Do whitefly attack chillies??

My greenhouse chilli peppers (anaheim) are doing great and I have the first little chillies appearing as the flowers drop off. One of them though, looks as though it has been half eaten What sort of pest has a taste for chillies

Default Chili Adicts

White fly are absolutely hooked on chili, they cant get enough of it.

Spray at once if you want to have some left.

If you don't want to cover your chilies with chemicles, boil up some privet hedge trimmings and use that or plain old fairy liquid.

Happy cooking.

I doubt whitefly won't eat the plant enough that it looks half eaten. I would suspect a weevil or slug.

Sounds sluggish behaviour to me - look for one with its lips all burnt!
For whitefly I just spray with a bit of washing-up liquid in water. You need to do it a few times but it does work.

Slugs have been feating on all of my chillis this year my poor black pearl is a lot worse for wear Try Egg shells in the pot or you can also get some copper ribbon to wrap round the pots that deter the blighters

Hi,

I have the same problem - I have been spraying them with washing up liquid which seems to keep them at bay - but I do have to do it at least every other day !!

white fly and green fly love to hide inside the flowers of chilli's, very hard to spot they can infect the new flowers and make them drop of, does any one add a couple of drops of cooking oil like sunflower oil to there washing up liquid spray? ive used it on chilli's and peppers with no bad effects.

they dont stick when you fry them lol.

Coffee grinds in the tubs if it's slugs. They hate the stuff.
