Default Is this CMV

Hi Everyone.

My run of bad luck with courgette plants is continuing after losing 7 plants to snails/slugs I've notice mottled yellow patches on one of the leaves of the one that's doing best.

You can see a larger version here:

Can anyone give me a clue, is it just struggling with the bad weather or is it infected with CMV (Cucumber Mosaic Virus)?

None of the leaves are shriveling up it's just mottled patches.

Slugs got half the stem of this one but it's trying anyway.

Not really sure what it is but don't think it looks like CMV and it sounds like the plant is looking otherwise healthy so I wouldn't worry too much. Give it a good feed to help it recover from the slug damage and you could well be OK.

I don't think you have CMV either in fact you plant is positively radiating health compared with some of mine. I have two varieties - green Defender and yellow Taxi. The yellow variety is about a week behind the green variety and although each plant is loaded with rapidly ripening 'gettes, the leaves on the yellow vaiety look seriously unhealthy - more yellow than green. I have given them a good feed today but I think it may be trace elemnt deficiency - poss manganese.
A for your plant, as suggested, give it a foliar feed (seaweed based are good as they contain a whole heap of nutrients and trace elements0 and it should be right as rain in no time

Thanks people.

Yes the Aphids really have had a go but a bit of judicious spraying with washing up liquid and water seems to have put an end to that. If only that worked on slugs (or does it, cant' imagine they like it

Fingers crossed that I'll get some courgettes yet.

I went and stuck a load more seeds in the ground over the weekend, If September turns out to be nice I might end up with 30 courgette plants!

I am determined
