Does it have small purple flowers on the stems, like mini snapdragons? Can't think of its name offhand but it selfseeds easily here.

    Is it purple toadflax?

It looks like wallflower to me...but then, flowers aren't my strongest point.

        Def. not wallflower, sorry Di

To my inexperienced eyes, it looks a bit like the shrub Oleander, cannot see if it will be pink or white just yet. Cheers, Tony.

That's OK...I grew a row of weeds once thinking they were flowers...was just a little excited I might have known this one. I'll stick to my veg and nasturtiums

I have exactly the same thing pop up at the back of my garden and was wondering what it was. I've seen it growing in cracks in a pavement by a fence near where I work too. It does look like that spurge and the description says it self seeds easily.

I wonder if it could be Euphorbia?

Looks very similar to something that has appeared in my front lawn, I was wondering what it was.

Thank you all very much for prompt replies, very helpful. I now know it is definitely a caper surge or mole plant.

                            Regards,

This grew in the garden of my childhood home. My sister and I called it the "Mystery Plant"! Didn't mean anything to anyone else but we knew what we were talking about.
