  • advice rid mess&weeds

hello ..necessary unfortunate 3months'total neglect -> absolute disaster and helplessness about what to do. It was a nice veg, herbs and straw/&rasp/berries patch, nicely isolated by hedges, just shadowed by laurel,+ big dwarf cherry tree in the left corner.I'm also attacked by brambles! Hope for a severe winter frost?I've got a weed killer 'torch'. Can have a little help from nephew to dig out.
Thank you for your comfort.@+ PBline

Is it your 3 months neglect? If so assume you know what us underneath? If not then never mind, 3 months growth isn't bad, many disused plots have a couple of years of weeds . I got my plot several years ago about now and it's a great time. Cut everything back to see the structure and cover in card. In spring there will be loads you can plant through and over winter us a good time for bare root fruit.

Some of us live in the past, always talking about back then. Some of us live in the future, always planning what we are going to do. And, then there are those, who neither look behind or ahead, but just enjoy the moment of right now.

Which one are you and is it how you want to be?

Sorry, I don't understand your first line, unless you write "us" meaning "is" ? underneath= I made lanes ,covered with cardboard and sand ans gravel. In my surelevated patches, I added good soil, compost and planted either flowers(annuals, perennials &bulbs)or herbs or edible mix (salads, shallots, flowers for their petals, etc) @+ PBline

Yes, my fat fingers made it us not is, well worked out.

Sounds like you just need to start cutting back and pulling the weeds. If it was OK a short while ago it won't be like starting from scratch, just make a start and you'll be impressed by your progress.
