Default Yorkshire

Noticed a large chunk of the country was missing from this board... even if I am half a mile from the Notts and Lincs borders, I thought a Yorkshire thread was in order.

But apart from these blustery, gale force winds, there's not a lot to report. It's still too warm, and I'm noticing a few trees putting out first blossom, which is just wrong. Starting to worry about my plum tree, as it's lovely and sheltered where it is and I don't want that blossoming too early.

Average temperature over the last week has been 10 to 14 degrees C.

Sorry Poledragon! I used the same areas as the BBC weather section.

12 degrees again today, gorgeous blue skies and lots of sunshine.

BUT there's blossom and daffodils and buds bursting all over the place. Not good. It' s all too early.

Ey up...my lads out there...and migrating here for his chinese take-away!!
We are in for a cold week here- do you really get less rain and more sun ( and wind...but not of the JA type!! ) on the East side of the Pennines??
I would ask my son, but he seems to sleep through the daylight hours and drink through the night!!!

And after yesterday's post, we awoke to a hard white frost this morning!

I've known it sunny in Doncaster, and snowing a blizzard in Sheffield at the same time. We get weird weather here...

Just got back from the allotment after erecting a fence and covering the weeds with carpet. Lovely bright winters day, I've really enjoyed it and our new allotment is beginning to look loved

Had a ridiculous amount of rain over the past few days - local field that's notorious for flooding looks like a lake. Don't think it's properly dried out for weeks. (DH wants to take his canoe down there and see if it's deep enough for playing in)

Temperatures have been slightly more seasonal at between 5 and 8 degrees C.
