A beautiful day here today: put me in a really good mood, so I sat with a cuppa and went through all my seeds... again! (Plus bought a pack of 6 different chilli/pepper seeds and 2 fig trees!) Fingers crossed for great weather from next weekend as I'm off for 2 weeks and it's crunch time in the garden.

Ooh Waffler, what fig trees, I've got a Lidl () variety (probably Brown Turkey) - but I feel a temptation to grow some more exotic type. Are you putting them in the ground or pots?

Default i just woke up to snow !

I could not beleve it this morning , it's snowing .
I have lived in the south west for about 26 years and only seen it snow 4 times and the latest was the 26 febuary two years ago for a morning.
This is about typical as i just planted my squashes 2 days ago outside but luckly under a cloche.

Mad isn't it - woke to snow which quickly melted in the sun, then was a combination of hail/snow on and off for most of the day, followed by a prolonged, heavy fall around 4pm which has still not entirely melted. I think we may be in for more tonight, but the pictures aren't coming up on Metcheck Almost the first snow we've had this winter - call this global warming?

Had a bit of snow yesterday at in laws in Crediton just outside of Exeter. Came back to Newton Abbot last night no snow settled. Light shower early this morning didn't lay tho. Bright sunshine at the mo but a few clouds looming over the moors more snow forecast later. Frost tonight showers tomorrow warming up rest of week.

first real planting and gardening day for me today, and i found my old labels from last year with planting dates (does everyone do this or just silly me). planting this year is 3 weeks later. I tend to go with gut feeling rather than anything technical. what have you found ?

Very windy and cold here in west Somerset too. At least no risk of frost for a few days.
