Default Hailstorm from Hell:Chaos in the Garden

last night we had the most incredible storm - high winds , thunder, amazing lightning and hail.....enormous hailstones and all after a day when the temperature reached 40 degrees.
Have lost sunflowers, jerusalem artichokes, some tomato plants and 3 peppers grown lovingly from seed.Everything else battered and bowed!!!!
Never seen a storm like it - waiting to hear from friends who live up on the hills if it was worse then in the valley ....hope it hasnt hurt the local grape vineyards!!!

Ouch, sounds painful Sorry to hear you've lost plants, it's always sad when you've spent such time on them. The forecasters are talking about similar mad weather affecting us too, so I think it must be heading this way now?! Better get some fleece handy...

Over four hours of continuous high-level lightning (like when the big ship arrived in Close Encounters); at one time three horizontal forks per minute visible through the bedroom window and rain like you wouldn't believe!

The previous afternoon a jet fighter passed low over the house. There seems always to be a thunderstorm after a jet has passed low over us (yesterday also).

Do you suppose they are seeding the clouds?

This is just one of KK's pet conspiracy theories!

I was woken a 1am by someone pushing a piano downstairs!!!!! I shut the shutters so I missed most of the lightening. At least the tarp over the roof stopped it from leaking this time!!!!!

I think France got our storms then. They were forecast for yesterday, but we just got a sprinkle of rain, nothing torrential.

All is sunny again now, so off to lottie to saw up some 2 x 2.

No storms here - just lots and lots and lots of wet stuff.

I love the mad storms around the mountains in France though. Seriously cool.
