For the Manchester\Cheshire area the following counts:

Outlook for this weekend is cloudy/sunny Saturday and cloudy/rainy Sunday. Outlook for next week (starting 7/8) is cloudy sunny with an increase in sun and temps through next week. Weather could break again by next weekend and into next week could see rain return.

The run of hot weather will suit crops such as sweetcorn but remember to keep watering any crops coming into season (such as 2nd early\late spuds) through the next week or so.

Last week saw rain and winds but no damage occured to crops and the soil has quickly dried. Remember to keep an eye on pots and baskets, the incrase in air temps and direct sun will dry them out quickly.

Although we've had some showers this week it's also been very windy & this is causing the soil & compost to dry out very quickly especially in pots & baskets. I just watered everything this morning as most of the baskets had dried out! Some sun & showers expected in the next few days but temperatures have dropped quite a bit but are around normal for this time of year.

You know, it is a good thing I read this thread as it hadn't even occured to me that all the wind would dry out pots. I will be out watering tomorrow morning.
Thanks

An hour on from your post and I'm looking at blue skies - bl99dy weather

I checked on the veg path at 10am and it was wet but un-water logged. Four hours later everything was flooded and now, three hours later, it's nearly back to normal. I've taken a couple of short clips on my phone and will be posting them to my blog later to show the sheer amount of water we had.
