Default Ash or Oak out first this year?

So which is it to be?....

Ash before Oak - we're in for a soak, Oak before Ash - we're in for a splash

The oaks are in leaf but the ash has some way to go before the leaves appear.

Oak was first here too. Shame really, the ground could do with a good soak!

As always, the oak is in leaf, the ash just starting to flower, no leaves for a couple of weeks yet. I have never seen ash out in leaf before oak. Does it actually come first anywhere in England?

At the end of the year, the oak hangs on to its leaves longer than the ash too.

I don't have any Oak nearby, but my Ash in the wild hedge is starting to open, I pollard these for stick making
