| The met office 5 day for the Manchester area is (as of writing) for a decline in day and night temps with a 0c frost warning in effect for Wednesday 17th into Thursday 18th and severe -5 frost for Thursday 18th into Friday 19th. Day and night temps starting Monday 16th will be in a steady decline through the week although temps are expected to be at or above seasonal temps. The 5 day can change quite a lot as the days progress and I have known forecasts for very low drops in temps raise by as much 10c by the time the 24 hour forecast rolls up for that day. However it's worth keeping an eye on this as the last week highs have bud burst a lot of fruit so don't forget fleece gang! Last edited by GardenFan; 16-04-2007 at 12:15 AM. |

| Hi, Update to the forecast as of today, frost warning is no longer in effect but tonights temp (17th) is expected to drop to 2c. The lowest temp after that will be 4 to 5c. As predicted the night temps for wednesday and thursday have climbed 5 and 10c but its worth keeping a close eye on these. |

| Just checked BBC forecast, looks like a lot of NW will have rain Sunday & heavy rain Monday, so if you have anything to plant out Saturday looks like the day to do it!

| Hi Clifton Growers, glad it's rained a bit as well, I've had to water everything for the last few weeks. Looks like it's going to perk up again towards the end of the week though & we should have some sunshine.

| At last, it's raining!!! Checked the Metcheck, and the BBC sites - looks like May is going to be the new April, non-stop rain for at least the next week...!

| Why is it always all or nothing, what's wrong with a general mixture, last week was havingn to rush around watering everything all the time and this week I'll be running between the house and greenhouse in between the heavy showers!

| I checked my IBT? water container tuesday morning it was at 150 gallons. Checked it tonight it was 180 gallons - OH can't believe its rained that much over the past couple of days! Bernie

| Forecast said it was going to be sunny today (IV factor 8 !!!). Got to lottie 0730 hrs - home by 0930 hours - by which time it was raining. The "shower" lasted till 1230hrs!! So much for the sunshine! Bernie

| Absolutely bouncing down with hail, rain & thunder before but seems to have passed over for now. We're promised a nice day tomorrow (Weds.) so rush out & get everything done then. This warm rain will bring all the slugs & snails out as well tonight so prepare your preferred method of destruction! P.S. Just watched the latest weather report on Granada & apparently there's the chance of thundery showers again tomorrow although it's going to be warm, so take a brolly to the allotment/into the garden with you!

| Really warm here as well at night, it's been in double figures most of the time & even 14 degrees some nights!But it is very changeable so you never know a couple of clear, sunny days & we could just get a frost.

| Thursday & Friday are both supposed to be very clear days, and I think the wind is changing direction so going to get pretty chilly. Although that could all change between now & then !
