How windy Snadger? Shetland Radio just given out that we have had 90 mph winds this afternoon, and currently gusting 80 mph. Is this gale going over the whole country? Makes me feel better if it is, but commiserations if you have had stuff blown away.

Er...well not quite 90 mph!! Probably nearer to 40mph which I suppose is a slight breeze to you! Lol

Sorry if this doesn't make you feel any better but I've just had a thought! I had an 8 foot wall of Borlotti beans!!!
Had, could be the right word
I'll check tomorrow!

Weather has been good today! 60 deg in shed. Wind had knocked my Borlotti/butter beans down, but because I haven't had time to do anything else I've just propped them up again! As I said a nice day, warm but cloudy, no wind!!!

Slightly frosty at nights! Not enough to totally kill my Christmas spuds, but there again I have got a paraffin heater in the cold frame. Still hanging in there!

Haven't posted on this thread for a while but I still think its mild for the time of year! Summer bedding plants are still growing and haven't been killed by the frost yet! We haven't even had a haw frost to stop the grass growing and turn it red yet!

Spent a lovely day (3hrs this time of year) at the lottie today, lovely winter sunshine but the frost never lifted. Think I.ve just inherited a lottie in a frost pocket as everywhere else was clear of frost. Never mind, perhaps it will kill all the bugs in the garden...Fat chance!

One degree above freezing in my shed today and dull and overcast!

Just popped in quickly to the lottie to check everything was ok, drop off a whitecurrant plant and a small potted bay tree! Collected tin of seeds and intend to get some onions sown in my new heated propogator at home where it's nice and warm!!

Just above freezing point today outside, but 50 deg in shed when the sun was on it. Noticed buds on blackcurrants. Very windy on new years eve and had to retrieve cold frame which had blown about 10'0" from where I left it!

When are these gales going to end so that I can get some cloches to stay put and not go sub orbital?

Spent day at lottie today 50 deg f in shed probably 40f outside. Starting to get a bit lighter on evenings and should be able to get to lottie more. Still no snow apart from the odd dusting. February is usually bad round here though so it's still got time!! All in all non three bad as far as weather goes up til now!

A lovely sunny winters day where the frost has hardly lifted on the fields and the temperature after 2.00pm was just over freezing point! Still managing to keep the shed above 40 deg with the paraffin cold frame heater. Dark at 5.30 giving me an hour in alottment!

Was intending getting a full weekend in at the allotment but did so much today, because of the weather, my limbs have seized up and I will have to go on light duties tomorrow!

It's one extreme to another lately! Today was misty, cold, a miserable day where the best place to be was sitting next to a fire! Didn't even bother going to lottie when I finished work as it is real couch potatoe weather!
