Cold here today too, fair bit of snow on the ground and quite heavy snow showers at times.
Our house is pretty chilly in a northerly wind and at one point the temp sensor in the kitchen window said it was 14 degrees in the kitchen and 15.6 in the greenhouse! I think it was lying - about the greenhouse, it was still bloomin freezing in the kitchen. Got us going though, we nearly took our coffee outside. Soon dropped to 1.2 degrees. Little paraffin heater going great guns though as I think it is probably a good -3 here tonight.

After our wee burst of frost it seems to be turning into summer now! Lovely mild few days, sunny and no colder than 7C, even at night! Its very tempting to go out and start digging but have managed to restrain myself so far. I know it won't last.

Funny you said that!! Ive just been out (8.30pm) planting on the garlic that I had grown!!
Its just starting to spot with rain, but v.little been out this afternoon moving shrubs as there were ones getting hidden by the bigger ones!
The chickens have found there way over the wire and have eaten the last of my brocolli, they were only leaves, but I was saving them and giving all the chickens some rather than one fat chuck getting them all!!!
Will have to sort that one out, a bit of detective work and watching how it gets in will have to be done tomorrow as Ive manured and added extra worms, a chucks favorite!!! Mine too as it saves my back!!! Had to laugh, saw an advert for one of the scottish papers can't remember which one but it was putting a free magazine in 'scotland in winter' the ad showed all these pictures with snow -- they weren't taken this year!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I can see snow on the back of wyvis and on the tops, did come down the hill 2 days ago, but seems to be disapearing!
Have a good weekend and hope the weather is good for us all

Just taken this picture from my office window, it's a bit like living in a snow globe at the moment. Very pretty!

Looks very pretty BW, but also looks very cold! We've snow forecast for later this week, tho whether we get it or not is another thing! There doesnt seem to be anywhere near as much snow nowadays as I can remember from being a child, must be global warming!

Like you and BW Jennie, I woke to a smattering of snow and have had snow showers on and off all day. We must have the same wind too - from the NE and absolutely Baltic

We had it very very cold for about a week while the rest of the country was struggling with the snow. No snow for us but sunny, cold, dry days. Then we had a little rain for a few days, then some very warm weather which was almost like summer before it broke into high winds and rain. Its been a funny febuary

Absolutely glorious sunny day out at my field today. Meanwhile 3 miles away, back in Tain, weather was dull and overcast all day. Quite a hard frost in Tain last night.

Beautiful day today - woke to blue skies and wall to wall sunshine. Looked lovely through the window! It was a bit chilly to start with, but got warmer. Wind got up abit through the day, and was quite blustery in the afternoon, but heavy digging in the sheltered area behind the polytunnel resulted in my taking my fleece off and working in a T-shirt - in March !!

It is now 7.55 pm and still daylight !!!

The last two days have been glorious. Yesterday was 16 degrees, warm enough for gardening in a T-shirt. No wind in the morning, but windy in the afteroon. Blue skies and sunshine.
Today, this morning was slightly chillier at 14 degrees, blue skies and wall to wall sunshine. Very pleasant. By lunchtime we had hit 18 degrees! By this time I was stuck in a meeting and by the time I came out later in the afternoon it was cloudy and spitting with rain.
Tonight the soil is feeling very dry and even feels warm when you touch it.
I now have a tan on my arms! Yippee!

Another scorcher here today - well 16 degrees! After yesterdays wind and rain we all thought that the summer had been and gone. But blue skies, sunshine and a light breeze. Oh just bliss! Sun still shining now and last night it was light until 9.15 pm.

Yet another glorious day! Temps only making 17 degrees but it feels wonderful with blue skies and a gentle wind. Driving home earlier in the half light, the sky was completley blue, not a cloud, but temperature still maintaining 10 degrees. Had a wander around the garden in a lovely blue light.

Apparently we have the same forecast for the next four days. Yippeee!

Apparently Shetland was the sunniest place in the UK today

Wall to wall sunshine all day. Pity that it never made it over 9 degrees.

Possible frost tomorrow night

Gale force winds easing and should be nice and bright and still, but sadly with frost.

Last week has been warm and dry but with fresh to strong winds. Had a full days rain yesterday, but it didn't penetrate more than 5mm - wind saw to that. Everything is being dessicated !
Forecast for weekend is sun and showers with temps down to just above freezing at night and climbing no higher than 12 during the day.
I WANT RAIN !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

More showers today, and feeling cold. Echo what Alice says, but then we did have a wonderful spring so I'm not complaining too much! bugs still not out in any force, not even had to go picking slugs yet.

Me and my big mouth !!! Not only did I get rain (timed to perfection as I had just planted out my winter cabbages), it was followed by hailstones (pretty big 'uns at that) then finally by a shower of sleet !!
Still, at least the soil got wet !!
