  • 2009 - "Top 5 warmest summers on record"

Whilst were all hunkering down in this rediculously cold weather, furiously protecting our precious plants - here's a bit of possibly positive news.

We've all been moaning about the lack of decent summer weather for the last two years - but hear this......

The bad summers have been put down to gulf stream position, La Nina and sunspot activity. But recently these factors have all changed for the better, the gulf stream has moved, La Nina has done what its supposed to do, and sun spot actvity has kicked off again. These all point towads a good summer. Forcasters are predicting that winter will be well and truely over as soon as February is out, and we can look forward to a summer with no blight, and decent chilli growing conditions!!!

Then again its all a bit speculative at the moment, but early indications look good. I'm no expert, just passing on the advice of those in the met office.

    Happy days!

It's good to look forward to some nice weather.

however, our forecasters don't even know what's happening next week ... they are only making educated guesses after all

True Two Sheds. And there's be the usual hose-pipe bans - get your water butts in place early and avoid the rush!

In Garden News they reckon summer will not be arriving till mid August and we will have a warm Autumn...

It looks like I will be sowing a lot of seed just in case of a change in the weather, nothing changed there then!!!

Certainly hope your right. After the last two seasons it would be a big improvement

I'm hoping this summer will be better than the last two, they were awful. It is hard to imagine how nice it might be when you're surrounded by snow though! Oh well, here's hoping!

Water butts are going cheaper at Focus DIY if you have one. Unfortunately, they are another store that is in trouble (hope that helps)
