yin yang beans

They are best used as a dried bean in my opinion. So leave them on the plant till they start to dry.

I use them in chillies and in pork casseroles. Pork and beans. Hmmmm!

Hi chuck.

When dried; just soak overnight and boil up like any dried bean then add to chillis/other dishes....

Try a few fresh as well, I tried some last year and they were fine.

i'm growing a relative of zazen's and i dried a litre kilner jar full last year from 8 plants grown from zazen's seed and now its relatives are growing great guns for this year. more big jars required me thinks.
cos all the other beans are doing well too thanks too zazen.

I grew the yin yang last year and got an average 5 beans per pod (didn't treat them very well) but didn't cook them as I wanted to plant all the seed this year. I've got far too many to count on the allotment and a small patch at home for eating fresh - they are really nice at about 3" long.

I went out and took a picture but the computer seems to have eaten them and I can't find the file anywhere so you'll have to take my word that they seem more robust and bushy than the other types I'm growing especially the kinghorn wax. It seems a easy bean for those of us with little skill in that department!
