Not a clue. How many sets of leaves have you got? I seem to have had between 7 and 9 before the first lot of leaves. Mind you, the stems are short between leaves so it tends to be from about 1 - 2 ft from the soil that my first flowers came.Whoever plants a garden believes in the future.

My yellow brandywine's are the same. the rest have flowered and are fruiting well. I just thought they were slower developing than the rest which are cherry tomsComment

I haven't grown the yellow version but I grew red brandywine last year for the first time. I really loved it but it was very late to harvest. With this in mind, I sowed the seeds I'd saved in early February this year and nursed them along indoors for ages, then I carried them in and out of the greenhouse until I was able to leave them outside for good. I've eaten the first fruit and the next to ripen will only be a day or two. There are plenty set on them too (I've got 3 plants). It's a long season tomato really so you maybe just need to give it time. I think a lot of heritage beefsteak types take a long time. My Green Zebras are always the last to ripen - but well worth the wait.Whoever plants a garden believes in the future.
