  • year round growing

This is my first year growing and am wanting to have crops year round if possible, my question is what do you grow so you dont have a dry period of crops, i have the usual planned to store, potato, onion, carrots, garlic, shallots, beans, and was wanting to plan ahead with seeds positioning etc, i have been told savoy is a good wintering cabbage. Any advice? I have a 12mtr x 2mtr plot and lots more areas that can be used.
    Thank you in advance

    Hi

If you look at the first post in the 'Growing Techniques' board, you should find a bit of guidance from Snadger.

My Perpetual spinach has grown consistently from when it was planted around this time last year to present. Despite enduring 2 lots of snow and numerous frosts it seems unscathed.

That is what I want to know too

I have a huge plot and want to be growing many different vegetables and fruit though out the year so that my family are well nourished but with some variety in our diets too

Its a very steep learning curve, any advise or help is very welcome

Buy the Vegetable Expert by Hessayon, for starters.
You need to know what space each crop needs, growing conditions etc.

Winter veg is in the ground taking up a lot of space, for most of the year.
